Back soon:
Listen:|| Love this!
Check out this awesome viral for Labrinth’s upcoming debut release ‘Let the Sunshine’. Out September 19th!
Look:|| Focus on… Adolfo Dominguez
Since taking over his father’s boutique in the 1970′s, and the subsequent launch of his own designs in the 1980′s, established Spanish designer Adolfo Dominguez continues to delight with his supremely feminine ‘urban-casual’ collections.
“My clothing does not so much highlight differences in status as it does differences in spirit and intellect.” Says Dominguez. “In the memorable words of the poet Juan Ramón Jiménez, I dress the vast minority.”
The main line is now accompanied by the ‘U’ range for young men and woman, ’Adolfo Dominguez +’ for the plus-size market, and a collection of accessories and outfits for pets and children.
Below are some of my favourite pieces: intricately cut-out doily dresses, classic tailoring and impressive draping are highlights from the latest collection!

Listen:|| New Gaga!
Gaga’s hotly anticipated new video for ‘Alejandro‘ dropped today!
Directed by Steve Klein, it seems Gaga is upping her game in the music video stakes with each and every release. (And there was I, naivly thinking she was pushing boundaries by ‘riding’ the blow-up whale in her debut video for Just Dance…!)
Describing the video as a celebration of her love for the gay community, Gaga explains, “In the video I’m pining for the love of my gay friends – but they just don’t want me to be with them.”
Subtle tributes to Madonna are also apparent; in both styling and set, with the whole concept reportedly being in homage to the Queen of Pop herself.
If homo-erotic, dry humping, bondage-indulgent, military men are your bag, then this might just be a cinematic fantasy…! If not, then perhaps it’s just another 4-minute-too-long video, solely aiming for the shock-factor, that tries to add too much meaning to a pretty average pop song.
Check it out below!
Listen:|| Friday Throwback!
Listening to old skool r’n'b tracks on a Friday afternoon has recently turned into a somewhat of a tradition for me. I find that re-discovering a song can often be like looking through an old box of photos; both are often stacked full of memories and emotions, and it’s that moment of recognition of a familiar melody or lyric that can take you right back to that era – almost like time stood still!
So this week I also came across an awesome site www.whosampled.com
I find it so interesting to learn how different songs and beats are connected through samples and covers. King of the sample, Kanye West has brought many a random song into my life – albeit subtlety – recognise this at 0.35 anyone?
Obviously some are pure sacrilege though… like this monstrosity by ex-Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon – hopefully coming to a stereo near you soon. I won’t be posting her version of the classic Lisa Lisa track, instead just reminisce on the original below!
This next track – and the subsequent cover version – are now pretty much classics in their own genres. Props must go out to my good friend Mr Davis who searched the archives for me to find out who sung the Garage version this legendary Alexander O’Neil track. >>Sidenote: I haven’t forgotten – a reward is winging it’s way to you soon homie!<<
My girl Gwen had the right thing in mind when she sang “You got to have a J.O.B, if you wanna be with me.”
…’No romance without finance’ boys!
Listen:|| Jams of the week 6
I’m SO late in posting these…. but they’re actually still my jams of the week, and have been for the past month!
Gyptian ft Nicki Minaj — Hold Yuh (remix)
I first came across Gyptian back in 2005, when my good friend Ama and I could often be found talking life, love and dramas with ‘Serious Times’ on constant repeat. I’m still a huge fan, so I’m pretty excited that his upcoming release – a remix of his recent single ‘Hold Yuh’ featuring Nicki Minaj – is actually receiving the airplay it deserves. Check out the brilliance below!
Drake – Find Your Love
Man of the moment Drake shows us his best Craig David impersonation in this hot new track, produced by Mr West! ’Find Your Love’ will be the second single from his hotly anticipated album ‘Thank Me Later’, set for release June 15th! Check out the video (featuring Mavado) below.
Johnta Austin – Close Your Eyes
Having penned hit records for Whitney, Tyrese and Mariah to name a few, multiple Grammy award winner Johnta Austin releases his long overdue album ‘Love, Sex and Religion’ this summer. Currently signed to Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def label, ’Close Your Eyes’ is set to be the first single to drop. Let’s hope it makes some waves, it’s about time he got a piece of the limelight!
Life:|| Be stupid…
I heart the recent Diesel campaign.
Whilst the adverts have indeed come under lots of criticism, (“Be stupid? Yeah, you are stupid if you spend £200 on jeans!”), I’ve gotta say that actually, it completely connects with me as a consumer.
I firmly believe that you often make the best decisions in life when you take a risk – or by ‘being stupid’ if you will.
But does this message directly relate to Diesel products? I’m not convinced it does. But it certainly connects with the target market of teens and young professionals; and the ever-apparent realization that the standard route to our dreams may in fact not be as simple as we thought.
If there were ever a time to be stupid, I’m pretty sure It’s now.
One of my nickname’s at school was ‘Tent Head’.
Now this wasn’t as malicious and damaging as it may sound – as far as I knew my friends meant it all in jest(!)
I do recall however, one time in Music class when unbeknown to me, my classmates were secretly having a contest as to how many biro’s they could fit in my hair without my noticing! (I think they made it to three before i caught them -ha!)
That being said, I do feel I got off lightly compared to my good friend Elizabeth, who, equally challenged in the frizz department as myself, was subsequently deemed ‘The Pyramid Warrior’ by our charming peers!
But then came the days of ceramic straightening irons and the joke was finally on them. We were back in the game with luscious, shiny and frizz-free locks!
Or so I thought. Until the other day that is…
After falling asleep with wet hair, awaking to some kinky curls and then attempting to brush them out, I was so horrified by what I saw before me that I just had to document my hair-woes — and take action!
Yes I know…..
Ridiculous isn’t it. Please don’t judge!*
It seems that numerous years of hot-iron abuse has left my mane in somewhat of a tragic state! But luckily, help was not far off as I’d recently purchased a new hair mask by TIGI. Described as ‘giving your hair a spa treatment in 5 minutes’, it was definitely worth a go.
The Treat Me Right mask is a deep conditioning hair treatment which promises to leave you with ‘full shiny and healthy hair’. Retailing at £14.20 for 200ml I was pleased to discover that whilst the consistency is a thick, almost sticky, blue paste, a little does still seem to go a long way.
Upon application, you can really feel the product refreshing the scalp as the cooling properties of the Menthol Piperita Oil get to work. Your head may tingle, but don’t be alarmed, this is normal and is actually pretty invigorating! I found the strong peppermint scent divine and it left my hair smelling minty fresh for days.
The instructions advise to leave the product on for 2–10 minutes, dependent on your hair type. I actually left mine in for over an hour in a moderately warm Turbie Twist as I felt that I was no doubt an extreme case!
(What’s a Turbie Twist I hear you ask? Talk to this guy, he loves them!) haha.
All in all, I think this is a great product. The packaging is fun, the scent is delicious and the end results were impressive. I think my ‘After’ picture below speaks for itself!
**PLEASE NOTE: Not a scrap of make-up was used in the making of these pictures!!!**
This conditioning treatment can be used on all hair types and is available from various sources online or at all TIGI stocked salons. Check out your hair type below for the relevant instructions.
Normal to Oily Hair: Use once a week. Apply to scalp and ends. Massage scalp and hair for 1 minute then wait to feel tingle/cooling sensation. Rinse.
Normal to Dry Hair: Use twice weekly. Apply to scalp and ends. Massage in and wait for 2 to 3 minutes then rinse.
Dry, Flaky Scalp: Use twice weekly. Apply to scalp and ends. Massage in and wait for 3 to 5 minutes. Rinse with cool water.
Extreme Damaged Hair: Use every 5-7 days. After shampooing, towel dry and apply to scalp, then apply a generous amount from mid lengths to ends. Leave on for 5-10 minutes then rinse. Use a turban/heat for deeper conditioning.

Toni Braxton ft Trey Songz — Yesterday
Wow. Is Toni Braxton looking A-maz-ing or what?! I mean, she’s 42!
If I look half as good as this in 16 years time, then I too will be writhing around in my smalls at every given opportunity, believe me!
‘Yesterday‘ is the lead single from Ms Braxton’s upcoming album ‘Pulse‘, which marks her first release in five years and is set for UK release on May 3rd.
With (ladies) man of the moment Trey Songz on the official remix, the video tells the story of Braxton discovering that her man is doing the dirty on her… with Brooke Hogan of all people!
With evocative lyrics and a seductive video, Toni is set for a triumphant return – i just hope this gets the airplay it deserves!

Chris Brown – In My Zone
Following the underwhelming response to his recent album ‘Graffiti’, (which was awesome by the way…) Breezy released a brand new mixtape ‘In My Zone’ on Valentine’s Day.
While this is no doubt a move to boost sales since the controversial Ri-Ri incident – and subsequent nose-dive in his career. I’m just not quite sure what’s on the cards for the him now? While he may be able to scramble back a proportion of credibility with these new releases, it has yet to be seen whether his wordwide audience is ready to embrace Chris ‘beat-her-down’ Brown, and put him back on the top-spot.
That being said, it’s a great record and there’s no denying the boys talent! If you haven’t yet copped it then you can do so HERE!
Below are my two favourite tracks, Perfume and Glow In The Dark.
Enjoy!
<<Oh gawd… look at the sponsored link for a Chris Brown search on YouTube….. That’s deep!
